Ok, does anyone have a suggestion for a tweeter that meets the criteria for around 30 dollars a pop give or take? I will look myself but the more I have to choose from the better. Is 11L the smallest I can go? Would it be a better option for me to go with a MT to get a smaller enclosure? Thanks again, I'll get back to you as soon as I find a tweeter (which will be soon hopefully :D )

Alright I am going to stick with the 11L cabinet, I don't want to sacrifice sound quality for space. I have narrowed it down to a few tweeter options.

These from Tang Band

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=264-834

And then one of the many tweeters from Vifa like:

http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?pid=1005

These are the ones I came up with. Which one looks best for my application? Is there one that I overlooked that would be better? I kinda like the looks of the 27TBFCG and Zaph said it is one of the best tweeters period. I would like to get more opinions though.

Thanks again,

Dan

Hey, thanks for the suggestion on the tweeter. What if I choose not to use the bass management on the amp? Only reason I ask is because I will probably be using these on alot of different amps, I like to change it up a bit. Would the bass reflex box still be the best choice? I also read on a thread that a dome tweeter is not the best choice to put with a FR driver, they acually said to stay away from them. Is this why you are going with a ribbon tweeter? On the dome tweeters I suggested the TBs because of the small mounting flange so the FRs could be closer. If I went with the Peerless like you suggested would there be a difference with the drivers being farther apart? If the bass reflex box is still ok without the bass management might you be able to help me design it so that it meets all the specs like the baffle step and such? Sorry for the million questions, I just want to be able to get the most out of these drivers the first time. Also if I went with the peerless, what frequencies do you suggest I crossover at.

Thanks again for all you help
Dan

The bass reflex box will give you more bass but you won't be abble to use the full 25W per TB...
I don't know why you should avoid a dome tweeter... especially if you are using a paper composite cone (like the bamboo one)...
i'm sure you can find one.

The only advice is to find a tweeter that can go as low as 1500Hz... you can find some 1" domes that works quite good.

The one i won't use with the bamboo driver is a metallic dome... Sonically speaking : try to stay in the same familly of materials...

metallic cones ---> metallic domes...

paper/bamboo/nomex, etc... ---> silk dome...

a ribbon is a good choice and the LCY is one of the few that can be used from 2kHz with a 3rd or 4th order filter. It has the advantage to be square so the directivity is like a dome...

take a look at the The Bohlender Graebener Neo3 PDR

it is not a bad performer from 2.5kHz.. maybe you ca think of a TMM instead of MTM enclosure.
