Hi there.
I am in search for some 814 triode curves.I found two on P.Millet site(thanks Pete)yet, they are quite different.
I want to replace the 807 triode connected tube, used as a driver, with a more linear tube.
Looks like the 814 is the one.
Can anyone help me locate some curves?
Thanks
SD

Hi rdf,
Ah, good to know.
Huh? That is just a loctal based 6SN7 version.

They're from Pete Millett's site.

Here is one of measured curves(sorry in Japanese).

I did some calculation with parts at hand and wondered how this would translate to sound quality. The higher anode voltages seem not so linear, would that give mostly 2H? How to calculate for output power again?
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Superb valve in triode. I used it as my main amp for over 2 years. The sound is unique and is extremely linear. I'm travelling now but can share curves and spice model. Not a sleeper but a fantastic transmitting valve often overlooked. I was running it at 600V / 100mA. In class A2
Reading about your experience right now Ale, good work. I was thinking about the C3M driving the 814, cutting one power supply.
C3m is a good valve but doesn't have enough gain in triode mode. Pentode is a good choice though, C3g, D3a, 6e5p and E280F are some of the drivers that can swing 200Vpp with excellent linearity.
I posted some other updates and measurements of my amp on my website but am travelling now and with limited internet.
