I'm looking to build a "Musical" sub to augment my Wharfedale Diamond 9.0 speakers. Basically I want something to fill in the bottom end musically for these small speakers. I want nice tight, fast bass....not bloated, flatulent, rumble bucket bass.
HT is really way down the list and I already have a sub for blasting kidney stones ....besides my wife and daughter both complain when the bass is too visceral or loud. Would the 100watt Dayton amp and the 8" Dayton Reference be a good combo? How small can I practically make the box? Something in the range of a 12" to 14" cube would fit in.....

Here's a thread already in progress. It might get you started.
