I still don't fully understand the need to tie the signal ground (and speaker "return") to the AC power ground even through a "disconnecting" network. Witness how many high end amps come with simple two-prong power plugs which would make all this intricate grounding scheme impossible anyway.
In my simple IGC setup, I have attempted to isolate the AC earth ground and chassis from the signal ground and amp starground (same ground that the speaker "return" would be tied to). There clearly is more noise when I attempt to tie the chassis/earth ground to the amp board's starground point.
