And what did we buy today?

wife said no more new toys unless replaced by another. So out went the honda rubicon and in came the honda pioneer

i have suggested to the XYL "no more pocketbooks" until she takes one to Goodwill.

i said "suggested" -- there is no concept of obedience in a marriage >45 years.

if anyone would like or need a nice high-end pocketbook for a Christmas present to their wife, let me know as I could probably smuggle one out of her dressing room without it being missed.

This wouldn't be Parts ConneXion would it? If not, then pop in to their web site and buy something there. Just click the link I left above.

I deal with these people semi-regularly and can say that they are honest and well intentioned. Somehow I don't think this was the place as I think most of what they have is open box (=great deals!). By the same token, I also know that it gets crazy in there at times and they haven't called me right back on occasion either. But this is the place where I bought the two sets of speakers (good deals, remember? :) ). I am sorry to hear that your planned purchase didn't come off like it should have.

No it wasn't partsconnection so no worries there. I looked at the link for them and they don't carry the RP 600 M anyhow it would seem, or at least I don't see them on their site.

I was browsing Canuck Audio Mart and saw the add for the Klipsch from a stereo store in Ontario. It was for open box with 10 condition on the speakers and with full warranty etc for $650. I also thought it would be free shipping, as on their site it says that if you spend a certain amount etc then free shipping. I replied to the ad dated from April and got a response that they still had them and I asked if they would take $600? He said he'd call me within the hour. So four hours later he calls and said they were just sold, but offered to sell me a new set unopened for the same price because the ad was still up he said, plus shipping. I said shipping isn't included? And he said no not on discounted merch, but it doesn't say that on their website. Anyhow I just said I'd think about it and got off the phone as it kind of just left a bad taste and I wasn't into salesmen BS and never have been.

Anyhow long story short lol, it wasn't partsconnection. I actually forgot about that site until you posted it so thanks!

Cheer's,
Dave.

Reminds me of some of the smaller Rollei cameras

I had a black box Rollei 35 mm camera in the late 70's. It did look a lot like this one except for the black color. It took some excellent pictures that defied its price....free for opening a savings account at a bank.

What did I buy today?

I went to Margaritaville again today and consumed my second Cheeseburger In Paradise this week. Passed on this though.

Hi soundbrigade,
Well, we don't care what happens on other sites, and don't bring those problems here. Now, why don't you start a thread about your projects with the 6T9? I may even have a couple of those hiding in my stock.

I didn't mean to soil the FORUM to rule other forums with crazy stuff, just meant to show that some "innocent" words and combinations of letter and number are elsewhere treated as unmentionables.
(And I sold the ones I had )

And I paid for developing and scanning of my last film - a Revolog 600 nm:

Just got back from visiting another shop. I am silly lucky in that I was gifted a Sound Technology 1000A, an FM Alignment Generator (now I have to learn how to use the darned thing).

I was also gifted a Panasonic VP-7750P, a Wow & Flutter meter plus some Teac test tapes. I can't thank my friend Rick enough for this stuff. The cassette stuff will really help me get back into doing alignment and repair. Too bad cassette decks aren't really supported with spares these days beyond the very basics. Belts and idler wheels (sometimes). Here they are!

Bought some parts for a model railway station halt/stop controller.
Took about 15 minutes to write the software.
Then I found out people like the LED's to fade in and out like incandescent lamps.
Took 2 hours to write a routine that looked realistic !
Some early routines were a bit blinky or stuttery, but I got there in the end.
The LED routines are more complicated as you need to cater for common anode and common cathode wiring.
