Hi,
I'm about to start my first speaker project - Adelphos by Jeff Bagby.
I'm going to crimp the internal connections and not to solder, I have great ratcheting crimping tool.
I would like know what are the types that preferred for all the connection inside the speaker.
Spades?
Lugs?
Insulated? Non-Insulated?
Brands?
Specific details would be great.
Thanks!
Itamar.

I always solder. I don’t like adding connectors.

What if you want to change something in the crossover? upgrade part?
Thanks.
I use spades. I buy them on car parts stores or electrician.
Thanks.

Crossovers are rare in our speakers (particularily passive ones), and if we do have an XO it is external to the box (inside is a bit of an ugly environment for XOs).

With only a little bit of ingenuity crossovers can fabricated to be accessible enough that soldered connections take not much longer than crimping. Just don’t squeeze parts into “ an efficient spot” that require dental surgeon skills to reach.
I also prefer soldering to crimped - and that predated my being captured in an elliptical orbit around the gravitational mass of Planet10 by several decades.
Several hundred Hafler kit builds in the 70’s - 80s, and a few Bottlehead projects more recently - not a single crimped connection in the lot.
