i am amazed that you would consider that heatsink huge. its a 600watt amp!!
the heatsink is tiny for such a power output. and actually undersized for the proper utilisation of that power. you need to dissipate circa 60-80 watts worst-case-scenario.. that heatsink without fan is probably good for 15-20w.

To honor the mod's request on the split, I'm pulling this over to this thread.
Really depends on use case, as, unless you're pushing the system pretty hard, the amount of waste heat will be pretty close to quiescent levels. That said, using something like a 120mm San Ace (9S1212L4D011 Sanyo Denki | Mouser) might well be able to run right off the 12V tap available (might be too much current draw?) and move more than enough air very quietly. Just make sure that you mount the fan vertically, not horizontally.
Edit to add: Nidec Gentle Typhoons or some of the lower CFM Noctuas would probably work. Might as well steal from the quiet PC crowd!

Define "ventilated case", mounting orientation, load-Impedance, "hard", ambient temperature, barometric pressure..

I am still exploring for a case for the amp. I will put a 80mm on the back of the case or may be 120mm on the top of the case once I have decided on the case. I bought two of these amps to run in mono mode along with two SE-600-48. So I guess I need to definitely aircool the amps. I am planning to keep the power supplies in separate case and the two amps in separate case. I know it defeats the whole purpose of monoblocks, but it's due the space constraints.
This is what I used in the Americas....
19" Rack Mount Steel Chassis, 2U Height and 300mm Deep
A 2u case and the amp fit well and ventilated. Don't know if the SE-600 will fit or not.
How are you able to fit the amp in a 2U? I checked and with the riser and capacitor at the bottom and heatsink at the top, the amp height is more than 4". The SE-600 is only 2.5" height.
I have to measure again at home. Also, I may not be able to fit two power supply and two amps in there. I will need a deeper case.

Unfortunately, the space doesn't allow more than 5.9" in height. That was an oversight on my part when i made the fixed shelf. It's now just too much work to unscrew 8 brackets and screw them back. I can think I can live with 3U height.
Thanks for the enclosure pointers. I am still debating should I put all 4 of them in one box or make two monoblocks - by pair both PS together and both Amps together or 2 combo of PS+AMP.
