I would like to know whats the best full wave Russian Rectifier to 6C33 SE?
I have a bunch of 5C8S but a member told me it have current in excess.
So Iam thinking 5C3S.
''GSTube.com''. Tubes, sockets etc. Search result for 5z3
Any opinion or other tube?
Thanks in advance

The 5C8S requires 5volts at 5Amps for the heaters with an odd ball base!
The 5C3S is equivalent to 5U4 and is less power hungry and gives a good current output plus it is good for 1700Volts at 180mA, how long for I wouldn't like to say. The base is a standard 'International Octal' also called the 'American Octal'.

Possibly not in the case of the 6C33 which may be running at 200mA - 250mA at a couple of hundred volts. I would not operate one at much over 200V. (300mA at 150V has been encountered)
I would either go solid state or the 5C8S. One other option would be to consider a pair of parallel 5AR4 per channel.

Thanks boys, much appreciated.
I prefer Russian tubes due price and reliability.
I dont liked this 5U4GB due the Operating Considerations on bottom page 2.

Not parallel tubes, I want an single full wave.
Any more suggestion welcome.

I would recommend 6CM3. This is the highest current capacity (400 mA) TV damper diode. Voltage drop is less that 10 V at 350 mA. These tubes come in two varieties, single or double plate; double plates are better. The disadvantages - you need 2 tubes, and they require Magnoval socket.
Just located this other Russian full wave 5Z9C (5C9S):
Any opinon or datasheet translation from Wavebourn?
''GSTube.com''. Tubes, sockets etc. Parameters and characteristics 5z9c

Thanks Bro, you most kind.Max. supply voltage (per plate): 500 VAC
Max. output current: 200 mA
Max. peak output current: 3 A
Max peak reverse voltage: 1,700 V
Max plate dissipation: 12 W
Heater 5 V 3 A
Thanks for the suggestion, but 866A is rare and expensive. If you wish to run 6C33's, a pair of 866's will do just fine. LC filter only...
cheers,
Douglas
Thanks for the suggestion, they dont offer assembled bridge in four unit sets?Cree C3D03060F. I never even considered vacuum state rectification when I built my 6C33. You want a pretty hefty amount of capacitance, and chokes for that kind of current tend to not have a lot of inductance, so sand is your friend here.

Nope, just put them on proto board or mount them on terminal strips.
