I think RNM means to buy parts direct from the factory. Bentley is based in Crewe, so in a strange quirk of posh people English it's considered arriviste to say you are going to mention the company by name so you say 'Crewe'.

"CREWE Genuine Parts". Mfrd exclusively for Bentley. Can also be had in USA by CREWE importer..... Diversified Auto parts in Clearwater, Florida.

'Crewe' is a place. You don't capitalise it. you managed to not type 'CLEARWATER' so you know which one is the shift key.

And the company is 'Heritage Bentley Parts'.

I suggest people use those products on any leather etc as they have been tested and evaluated/approved for the Bentley and are best and not expensive if you can order NOT from a Bentley dealer.

Same for exterior paint finish products.

Yes you do capitalize it.... the "CREWE Genuine" parts name/logo is a trademark. There are several places you can buy 'CREWE' parts.

Heck, go look for some of the eBay ak4490 dacs. Think there's some non USB receivers out there. Demian (1audio) showed it has pretty spectacular performance.

I have bought a few, over time, from eBay... different makes... some as kits and some stuffed pcb and some built. Excellent value for your money.

I have bought this one

So on a thread on a DIY site where people have spent time arguing about the relative virtues of a couple of commercial DAC products, nobody has a killer DIY DAC and the best we can do is some Chinese prefab boards? ( No offence DPH that looks like a very good chip)

I appreciate the pointers none the less. Richard, how do you think your ebay boards compared to your DAC-2? Sonically, not in terms of fit and finish and convenience.

None taken Nezbleu. With that kit, you could do well to DIY the firmware to enable the volume control functionality, and replace the 5532 buffer with something more interesting.

I honestly didn't know what you were looking for, and, well, most of the dac kits out there read like a copy of the factory board. I think they fall-back to the Chinese prefabs is largely predicated on the soldering difficulty.
