By the way Earl Muntz went bankrupt with what he was doing. People realized it wasn't worth buying the cheap stuff just have a service guy in every 3 months to tune there TVs.

That hardly captures his entire life's work. In any case it's sort of a joke, complexity for it's own sake is hardly a virtue. Plenty of that here.

Removing the fine tuning knob was perhaps not such good idea.
I hardly knew him other than here but i feel his loss.
His posts were just a wonderful source of delight, inspiration and instruction in equal measures. A gem of a guy....

There have been several we knew here dying and you never knew anything was wrong. Right up to the last minute they typed on DIYAudio. Still contributing. One only said, I have to go to the hospital now.
