TPA3116D2 Amp

Hi guys, I'm in want of a stereo TPA3116 board. I was about to pull the trigger on the YJ blue board when I read that people think it's not a very good choice.
In these almost 1000 pages it's hard to find what you consider a quality alternative though.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

"safer bets"
Several sellers now sell clone boards, some come with chips that don't resemble Texas Instruments tpa3118. I don't know if fake chips on fake Sanwu boards perform as bad as YJ or as bad as cloned YJ boards, etc etc.

That's what I'm worried about. I've also ordered 2 "Sanwu tpa3118" boards on EBay but ofcourse there's no way of telling for me whether it's the real deal or not.

Without having a "proper" Sanwu for reference, is there any way for me to find out / hear whether or not I've got proper ones?

There seem to be several clones too, silkscreen on pcb's topside of the clones differ too, as far as I know the Sanwu boards have Sanwu name on bottomside pcb.

That's what I selected mine for on Ebay. But printing a name isn't very hard to do so I have no idea whether or not they're the real deal..
Oh well, for the $5 they cost I can have a go and see how I like them.

Edit: I've ordered these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181977284636

Well imagine harder :) They even sell fake "brand" resistors and capacitors for 3 cent or less, I guess they love dollars. Doctormord posted some pics in counterfeit semiconductor thread in parts section, take a look at how different these chips look, some really not made like that by Texas Instruments Taiwan.

TPA3116D2 costs less than $2/chip at relatively low volume. I don't see how anyone can make a "fake" chip for cheaper. Even using TPA3118 instead of TPA3116 will save you at most 10-15 cents per chip.

True, but they aren't manufacture like 1k boards, they do 10-100k+ on a single run. Even at 5 cents cost reduction, that's some money.

I still do not get how they make profite out of it.
Is it really like they sell big numbers of those chips?
A handful of diy-guys buy it, but i cannot imagine that any OEM buys it.

Was just thinking the same thing, I'm certainly doing my part, I have maybe 30 amplifier modules, I dont actually need 30 amllifiers, I only have10 sets of speakers, my girlfriend thinks I dont even need 10 speakers. But I doubt there are that many people making their own boomboxes. My guess is that these are surplus modules or rejected stock because quality wasnt there or some components were discovered to be fake! So off to ebay they go, last stop before they go to the lady in india with the skillet on an open fire .

Some chinese sellers of chinese ampboards seem to have moved to Malaysia. Ebay and Aliexpress still list them as China, but Alibaba (you want 10.000 or 100.000 ampboards?) does list them as Malaysia. Anybody here that has experienced refunds given outside Ebay/Ali dispute route, so direct to your bankaccount ? Refunds higher than $$ that you have paid for the goods you bought on/through Ebay/Ali ? I received a 45 euro refund for order I paid 42 euro's for, just not officially through Ebay/Ali, but direct seller to my bankaccount. I think they still have to pay Ebay/Ali a percentage of 42 euro sale that isn't cancelled too, also percentage for Paypal, yet they refund more than original total sum, I asked couple of times why, they say it is ok, so I stop asking LOL Somehow they want dollars maybe in bankaccount outside China and don't really care about how much own currency they have to spend.
