Hi,

Just found this thread and I was wondering if building instructions are available for a non-diy expert? I did not read all 32 pages sofar and probably it is all there.

Nonetheless I would be highly interested to build a couple of PSUs according to your instructions. I can organize PCBs etc. provided that I have a shopping list and layout. And just FYI I have no intention to make a business out of this. I have almost every model of the Squeezebox collection except the Touch and my Transporter mad me realize that sound quality improvement is definitely possible.

Slightly Off Topic - Squeezebox Touch Failure Mode

After 5+ years of faithful service, my Touch has failed in an usual way that I thought might be of interest. It would still function normally, but would put an intermittent 500 mV DC on the return/shield of the digital out. Since my DAC is DC coupled, that DC voltage was passed to my preamp and gave it fits.

For a while, I switched over to an optical out to get around the problem, but eventually I changed to a Pi3 using Max2Play and connected to the DAC through USB. That actually sounds better than the Touch digital out, so I decided to stay with that setup.

Taking apart the Touch, I couldn't find any obvious failure other than they did a poor job of cleaning up their solder joints. It could be one of the aluminum organic polymer caps, but I will never know. I managed to break the connector between the board and screen and I think it's done.

Meanwhile, I have retooled the SB Touch psu and it will make a nice clean 3.3V power supply for a USB to I2S conversion board.;-)
