I would love a HD video of the 1st panel on youtube or vimeo .Also some of the building processes would be amazing , PS. Regarding your comment on imaging its just a matter of getting a flatter freq response on the high end. Ill probably end up buying the Minidsp 4x10 or the Dirac Live to do this automatically for me.

Here in the frist pic......from the 90s before ML ever had a Air frame like all there new ESLs....I did this Mod to get better sound....It sounded more open but...not better....to me... but when this was put back to stock setup...is when i found how much diff in sound over all this littel brace on the top back... had on the sound...

Next is a pic of the best sound,image,tone.... i have ever got out of 30% creved esl panels ......you see this panel is pulled apart....this is the front of the panel....you can see the the horizonel staters are pull off.... when i got though there were only two at the top an two at the bottem.. but the sides an top an bottem frame was there.....so the back part of the panel had the mylar glued down.....this leves the front of the mylar all open....vary vary fast....well it sounds great.....much closer to a fullrang panel....

Haveing fun with MLs.....................from 95

Pic...1 this is not Coating coming off... an these panels had been showerd minny times......it crued an dust an you name it...
Geting to the mylar makes a big diff in the sound....
the ML coating in in the mylar......like used in making polly caps....

It's my educated guess that the black stuff being wiped off is some kind of additional coating (graphite?) that ML applied. Look at the attached ML assembly pics, and you can see the coating being applied with a gray sponge, and then the alternating gray coating and clean bands where the coating was masked off near the spacers.

CharlieM. Thank you before doing these electrostatics I have carefully read your materials forumah.Seychas I have a new model with unusual subwoofers consisting of six diaphragms and eight statorov.Ya think it will be interesting for everyone because of their sound quality is very good and far superior dynamics this range.

Sorry for my English because I use Google-perevodchik.Ya too am a fan of the curved panel electrostatics and a lot of time compared him with pryamym.Para photos of my "creations":

Those are absolutely gorgeous, havun. Do you have pictures during the process of that build? We all would love to see that!

Those deserve a thread all their own. Please post one. :)

Friends, to your attention a few photos:

Well, I never did get around to posting a picture of the ESL in it's frame, so here it is.

It's quite plain-looking compared to most final projects here, but as I stated before, this is going into a very dark theater room and doesn't need to be anything fancy.

I had a problem with some arcing under the tape bond area for a while but thank goodness it was near a corner, and I was able to carefully seperate the tape from the stator long enough to fix the problem, and they have been working fine ever since.

Again, many thanks to all of you for your help and guidance, I would not have been able to do it without you... :)

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
