I am planning to call Jensen Transformers on Friday, May 9th, using the numbers with OK posted by 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Saving Time (GMT -7). Hopefully we will have a USA volunteer by then.

For those who have just found this thread, this is a Group Buy for the Jensen transformer used by Nelson Pass in the Sony VFET amplifier article, model JT-112-LCF. According to Dave Hill, General Manager at Jensen Transformers, that transformer is electrically equivalent to the PC board version, model JT-123-FLPCH. Also according to Mr. Hill, Jensen has just renamed the JT-112-LCF as the JT-123-FLCF.

I am planning to call Jensen Transformers on Friday, May 9th, using the numbers with OK posted by 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Saving Time (GMT -7). Hopefully we will have a USA volunteer by then.

For those who have just found this thread, this is a Group Buy for the Jensen transformer used by Nelson Pass in the Sony VFET amplifier article, model JT-112-LCF. According to Dave Hill, General Manager at Jensen Transformers, that transformer is electrically equivalent to the PC board version, model JT-123-FLPCH. Also according to Mr. Hill, Jensen has just renamed the JT-112-LCF as the JT-123-FLCF.

I called Jensen Transformers and explained that we would like to place one order and have the transformers shipped to three locations. Jensen’s reply was that they only make one shipment for each order, so we have to place three separate orders. In that case the quantity discount is the same as what is informed in their End User Product Pricing.
I asked for an estimate on the cost of shipping to both France and Singapore, but they need the exact count of transformers and the method of shipment to calculate the cost.
In conclusion, organizing a single Group Buy with shipments to different countries is not an option with this vendor. The volunteers for Europe and Asia could carry on and place their orders directly with Jensen, or look for local vendors that can build electrically equivalent transformers, like Sowter in the U.K. and James in Taiwan. For North America, since there is no confirmed volunteer to receive and re-distribute the transformers, the Group Buy’s status is undetermined.

Thanks for the information. I had earlier inquired about multiple shipment
as well as 100+ unit pricing and did not receive a reply. I was too busy
with work and other issues and neglected to followup.

I guess it's time to consider alternatives.

I am realy sad with this big potential of GB no volounteer in USA...
Think too about Asian Diyers who are not that big group.
We stay together or European make his own GB ?
People imho are determinate and want buy cheaper.

Hi soundhappy,
since the shipment in Asia is a problem I would like to move from Korea to Italy.
I will back in Italy in July for 3 weeks and the trafos can be shipped to my family there.
If is not a problem I would like to add my name in Europe list and remove from Asia list.
