Count me in ! :)

@camelator : I live near Paris. Surely we'll be able to plan something when I'll have the MDA ! ;)

Hi Fabrice,
thanks for shared, eheh I have no doubt about this.
You must see the new Dual Mono I ordered, with which types of components arrive,
I am very happy when others are.

You put a sheet of insulating material under the regulators? you are crazy if you placed sda, without :)
Just my curiosity, not see caps on the PBTU board, you have changed with smd at bottom?
How much does Subbu dac?
------------------------
I also have curiosity of listening impressions from Darb, becouse has powered the SDA's with DPS-500/DA ... @ 56V

Hello ! how was the week end ? productive!

well after I tested teh Subbu DAC with the SDA, I decided to start some testing with VSSA :)
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

problem is that I m struggling on finding the right balance between Bias current in the VAS and DC offset, but ok, nothing to do with the DPS400 :)

so stay tuned

Roberto, FYI, I ve soldered the murata caps directly on the pin of the Elna, on the solder side :) and the cost of subbu dac was around 70€ (pcb+components+psu) but it is a GB which is now ended.

you are right, on this heatsink (comming from one channel of a vintage accuphase 303X) which is temporary, the heatsink comes to 41°C without load/signal.

so yes it seems the vssa gets hot :)

I hope to do som listening tomorow morning. This took a lot of time to prepare this equipement, and to calibrate it ...

Yes Roberto you are right I have 4 DPS and then I m planing to have 2 DPS for each channel (Left / Right). one DPS is for the 2 woofers (8') and the second DPS is for the Compression and the tweeter. This should be ok :D.
But for the time being, I m just "testing" all of that in basic stereo mode with a single DPS . That is not optimal, but still it delivers a stuning result.

stay tuned

Hello Folks;

this is a nice shining day here on the east side of the atlantics :)
this is the DPS+VSSA "in situ" this morning
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

The first very good news , is that I cannot here any sort of noise in the tweet and comp. the DPS is clean and the PSSR of the VSSA is good. no need for additional coil or whatso ever fancy caps. no zzzz or chhh or fffff

this is the first 30' of sound so this is not possible to give any judgment of any kind, either for the combi VSSA-DPS or for any comparaison between SDA and VSSA if anyone wanted that, sorry:D

let me say the music is just Good, so good. Well, very conventional I d say. soft, cool, nice, that doesnt rock as the first try with the DPS-SDA, something different, here. bass very good, but not as tight and powerfull as SDS (yet?).
Voice/mids less brillant, more soft but sill good details.

well. I must stop otherwise I would start judging things which cannot at this stage :)

for those questioning VSSA with DPS, I feel very very good with this combinaison (compared to my DIY trafo 1200VA classA/B  ). Still the 1000uF onboarded on the VSSA PCB might have a serious impact on sound.

for those questioning SDA vs classA/B, waouh, I m very very satisfied as you understood.

all of that needs more analysis...(and time!)

but my project of integrating both SDA and VSSA driven by DPS in a single solution is confirmed today.

good luck for your integration and enjoy the sound

Interesting! I'll wait for the custom case.
As far I understood (sorry, it's Monday and I'm totally numb, maybe you've already said it), it's a complete kit PSU+AMP stereo (or dual mono?) + case... ready for my noobish hands? :innocent:

Hello Fabrizio, sorry if I did not answer, but they are pretty darn busy.
Ah .. you're the perfect man for testing hard (long wires, without a metal base for the heart).
But this is good to test instability, and induced noise.
As you know, full-range, it is obvious that a smps DPS-400, for each amp, it is very much better. ;)
well, it should come out, even some tests from Pinnocchio , Also interesting because made at 120Vac 60Hz.

Hi,
Single Mono-Block case version.
Also, we present the new professional Guitar Amp 100w 8R. 20Hz to 22Khz, 0.03% THD @ 100w.
Compared in Studio Vs. the best in the world Guitar Amps.:)
Wait for A-600 complete Guitar Bass, powered by DPA-600/F.

regards
