What do you expect in a society that put politicall corectness before common sense.

One can not even use the word gay animore

But was in not illegal to have a drink but ok to wear your mummy clothes at one stage?

Ok, I always test my finished amps by driving them with a square wave input at a level such that the amp is not saturated. It a good check to make sure that the circuit does not misbehave when forced to slew. I also use that response to tweak the compensation to a slightly overdamped response (rounded corners, no overshoot, no ringing). It's something anyone can do with readily available bench equipment. That's all I used to do to check stability.

Using the wide bandwidth gain-phase meter uncovered squirreley behavior on amps that I thhough were OK based on square wave testing. Most notable squirreley behavior is around the gain crossover frequency, such as amps that have multiple passes of the gain through zero, or even amps that don't hit zero even with 10MHz test BW, but instead just flatten out. What I've seen tends to indicate that an output Zobel network is a flat minimum requirement. Other compensation may also be necessary. Output transformers complicate matters (no real surprises there). See my "SiC Puppy" tread for an example. See my "Vanilla" thread in solid state for an amp Gain-Phase that was finaly made to straighten up and fly more or less right.

It is my contention that unresolved gain-phase nasties may be responsible for audible artifacts, as well as antisocial behavior when something other than a benign resistive load with short cables is driven, hence my comment about cables. Cabling/speaker reactive loading may make a big difference to a marginally stable amp.

you'll not hear much from me about their overall quality - they will be fed through some really heavy chokes , so not working much

however , I can say that I'm satisfied how they are looking - very stiff cone , lowish Mms , with Fs=29Hz

in not so big MLTL they'll have F3 around 35 Hz ,and that's my second option for them as bass helpers , in case I'm not satisfied with present iteration
