I have added a link to ebay like:
20 watt valve amplifier. Home Hi Fi. Pro quality | eBay
Once the message is input I can make the link work fine many times.
However if I leave the page then come back to it the link shortens to:
eBay - one of the UK's largest shopping destinations and no longer points to the item I am selling.
The link is being shortened on subsequent visits to the page.

Both of those go to the home page for me. I wonder if that is something at their end?
If you open the first link in a new tab or page it goes to the item I am selling.
Also copying the link out of the message into the address bar makes it work ok too.
i have notised the same problem with all e-bay links on DIYaudio. they all leads to e-bay's front page.
If you watch the link working ebay cuts in with "ebay.rover" link then redirects to eBay - one of the UK's largest shopping destinations
Maybe ebay s vetting sources of links ?
Not all ebay links. About 1/2 for me.
If you input an ebay link then when the page is redisplayed the link works every time.
If you refresh the page or come back to it after visiting another link the link fails every time.
If you right click on the link and open, open in new tab or open in new window it works every time.
It smells like depending on where the page comes from ebay redirects it.
chaps is it just me or are links to posts not working so good anymore ? The f6 thread has a post that refers (via link) to an earlier post. But clicking it just takes me to the top of the current page and not to the intended post. Click here and try: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/pass-labs/216616-f6-amplifier-98.html#post3549086

ok so if i click on the above link it takes me (correctly) to post #4865 in that thread. Click on the link in that post however and it does not take you to the intended destination ... the intended destination being #4353 or 3516349 seq... odd and i have noticed this quite a lot recently.
