outptu stage

I am making some test with different output stage.

I have found that it is possible convert the output of the ES9018 in un-balanced so we will have 8 DAC in parallel with an outptu impedance of about 100ohm.

The DAC chip with balanced reject common-mode interference coming from power supply but here we are using the top of regulator, a hi-end linear regulator followed by an ultra fast shunt.

The balanced outputs need a differential stage to get an un-balanced signal so many component on the signal path.

I have realead a new frmware version with the possibility to change the output configuration and get an un-balanced signal on output.

You can connect directly the DAC output to your amplifier with a single capacitor or add a normal single ended stage like my DAC End with AD1865.

Here the new firmware and the manual of the remote command.

It is possible update the firmware with the cheap Pickit2 or any other clone.

I have found that it is possible convert the output of the ES9018 in un-balanced

Hello Andrea,

Can you explain this a little more ?
Does this mean that in this new mode there is only SE output from the ES9018?
Is I/V conversion still needed ?
Does the ES9018 run in voltage out mode? how much voltage ?

Thanks for adding new features !
Regards,
Danny

I have realeased a new frmware version with the possibility to change the output configuration and get an un-balanced signal on output.
I was interested to try "poor-man's" unbalanced by using one phase of the DAC output -
by connecting to DAC+ and A_GROUND ...
As I understand it, the output impedance would remain the usual 195R (4x DAC ouputs 780R in parallel)

So Andrea you're saying that the DAC can be configured to have true unbalanced outputs?
If so, is the correct connection DAC+ and A_GROUND, or DAC+ and DAC- ?
