Suitable transformer

I need to ask some advice from other participants on this list, please. I'm part-paid for:
- DAC base (without opamp I/V stage)
- Chassis
- Transformer

But I now realise it's wrong for me to use quanghao's transformer, since my own I/V stage (FET based) will require different AC voltage and higher current rating. So for the DAC base I should just buy my own 0-9VAC x2 transformer, right?

Is this 30W R-core transformer OK -
30W 220V R Core Transformer Output 9V 9V | eBay
The two secondary windings are rated at 1.7A each.

or there's a more expensive version here which is claimed to have "steel coiled silicon steel sheet and oxygen-free copper enamel wire" -
220V 30W High Quality R Core Transformer 9V 9V | eBay

Thanks.

At some point, the transformer for the dac was specified as 6-9V, 1A x 2, so the tx's you picked would work.

However, for my tx, I will probably look for something closer to 6V, instead of at the 9V end. At 9 VAC in, the DAC will need to dissipate more power to regulated down to the proper voltages. More power is more heat, which tends to shorten the life of parts.

So it will work, but not what I would use.

I hope I'm not stepping on any toes here......
Linuxfan wants to cancel his transformer order. I am happy to add a transformer to my order (partly because I don't want Quanghao to be left with parts he can't sell).
Obviously if anyone above me wants the transformer, they get first dibs.
So does anybody above me want to add a transformer to their order?

Hi, I'd like to buy one Sabre chip board, if still available. I'd like to buy the Sabre board, without output stage, but before proceeding with that I need to know if I can get the direct Sabre chip output in order to link it to a transformers output stage.

I hope you'll understand my question. It has been suggested to me by a more skilled friend that should do the work of assembling the DAC for me.

can you show me?? thanks
