To reduce volume of the box here with short midrange horn on the eminence kappapro15A.
system volume 124liter.
Spl for 2pi and second 1pi.

the kappapro is a nice driver to play with in simulation, now made a simple conical horn on it with bas-reflex loading.
to make some thing like these.
SPL output for 2pi and 1pi placement 1pi. And reasonable size 128 liter 4,5 cubic feet.
Combined response port next to horn mouth.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

why vented BR if it still needs a sub ?
To increase efficiency and bandwith. 105 dB 1wmtr 1 driver is very nice. 20% efficiency if i am not mistaken. A hifi speaker can not even make a 0,5% efficiency.
It wil make a perfect high efficient 2 way with a midhigh horn 500Hz-20kHz where time alignment is right.
It is not to bulky big can look very good with a tractrix horn on top.
Now only a tapped sub horn is needed.
I believe I already showed that solution.wouldn't closed/apperiodic make integration with a sub easier ?

a nice 10" of PHL-audio.
It's a shame PHL never publish any graphs of their drivers. I mean, look at their datasheets layout they even have an empty place for the graph but they dont publish !
I think they have lost many DIYers buying their drivers because of this.

Looks like a crystal filter rather than something I would like to use for audio
PHL drivers.

nice, but at a cost
wasnt it his intention to use very small amps, or even small tube amps ?
efficiency and sensitivity is ofcourse nice for small amps
but how much do you really need
in any case, if the goal is high SPL and playing very loud I see no point in using small amps
so I would say for the smaller amps a more 'moderate' SPL ought to be ok
or in short
even a big high efficient speaker system can still be a heavy load for a small tube amp, right ?
Looks like a crystal filter rather than something I would like to use for audio
filter it 4 order 1khz or 1,5khz, no higher harmonics due its own bandpass behavior.

Why do you think that?

Looks like very well behaving driver above 1kHz (if the spec is to trust)
