I've told you before... 25% old S. Prussian (now in France), some Swiss, some Hugenot French, some Norman Irish, a tiny bit of English, no Scots, no Welsh....and MOST certainly not ONE drop of Italian....I even refuse to travel in red cars.;) It is the last two lacks of which I am most proud!!:D

Mm, 5700 miles or 9100km, according to goggle eye, just above Venezuela.
Nuts ? Something like that.

Shame on you, mate!:)
You just came back from the jaws of death!:D
On the higher resolution picture better shows a reproving look, I think.

Agree with ZM.....

Thorens TTs [ and many others] and - especially the nasty arms they came with, were just bland sounding with not much good to recommend them.

Any other contenders for 'nasty, very expensive vintage components???;);)

I believe this little work of art iz right up your alley Brian!!! :D:D:D

It looks to be make out of a bit of spare change and some left over parts scavenged from little red carz.....or perhaps a busted fishing rod.

Brian,
You own this photo?
I like it.
It reminds me about it:
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
The hunting pic? Yes...bit over processed, but it was very dark when I took it....last Wednesday - about a mile from my house. [Old Nikon D200 + 35-70, 2.8. ]

Here is another, contre jour.

....and a couple of elastic bands. I bet it is likely to beat a Thorens 'consumer' arm hands down!!! And - as you rightly point out - some real money has gone into making it!

I'm sure that there iz some sort of resonance damping involved with the rubber band. I wonder how long it might take to adjust things az to size of band and number of wraps tho.
