As far as EQing the 288 goes, I remember reading that it was accepted wisdom that it was best if a driver on a horn only covers a decade of frequencies, i.e. 500Hz - 5kHz, or for example 700Hz - 7kHz for the 288 in the LTO Apollo.
You can EQ it, but at what expense? If you push a driver out of it's comfort zone, or that of the horn, with EQ, the results could be bad. Sorry guys, but I don't think EQ is a silver bullet. Useful, yes, but must be used circumspectly. EQ does not replace good old engineering. Ok, so I'll get off my soap box now.

Thanks Pano. Its not that I don't want them here. Its just that they would do more good in buzzforb's thread. I'll be dropping in there myself and have appreciated his input here
had a car crash today - some old fart pulled out on me on a roundabout, ignoring the age old rule of give way to the right (remember we drive on the left)
He jumped out and said 'you hit me!!!' I said 'how can I hit your car in the front right corner with the middle of the left side of my car?' 'Oh yeah'.....
Thankfully no one was hurt. My car is/was a never die Toyota, always reliable, slightly frayed around the edges - I call it just worn in with only 124,000 miles on the clock. Unfortunately its worth more to me than it is on the road
Got a call from his insurance company saying he has admitted liability. They'll probably right my car off (as it would cost more to fix than its worth), but I may be able to buy it back and get another door for £20............

"Give way to all vehicles, including bicycles, already in the roundabout, and only enter where there is a safe gap in the traffic."
Yup! Doesn't deter idiots, those who should who not be driving any more or those who should not have passed their test in the first place.

When reaching the roundabout you should:
give priority to traffic approaching from your right, unless directed otherwise by signs, road markings or traffic lights.....
I've been hit 3 times at roundabouts and it is a constant source of amazement to me how people can get it wrong. One of those times I was a cyclist. I jumped off the pedals and landed on the bonnet (hood). I then spent a few minutes haranguing the driver whilst stamping on the windscreen & jumping on the bonnet. He coughed up enough money for a new bike and cab home after 3 other drivers came forward as witnesses. He needed a new bonnet and windscreen
On the other hand I detest the ambulance chasers I've been inundated with since calling in the accident.

I'm both a car driver and a cyclist. It never ceases to amaze me that a car driver cant see a guy in a fluro yellow jacket on a bike or another car!
I think people should be re-tested every 3yrs and pay £££££££ for the privilege - fail and yer banned for 18 months + take 20 lessons + re-test.
One recent accident down here, both parties (no pun intended) were off their heads, the car driver on pot and the tractor (agricultural) driver was smashed on cocaine!
Neither were banned, just fined!

I have been hit three times on a roadbike. The last time i got hit was by a side view mirror. If not for the fact that it was a break away mirror, It would have broken my arm, pinning it on top of the boots. Ran a couple of other guys off the road. I was 1 foot outside the linemarker in a group od 20-30 riders in single file. She saw me, just didn't think had a right to be there. Trucker stopped and waited on us and gave me her license plate number. Said she made absolutely no attempt to get over. PoPo wrote her up for reckless drving.
*OT* I guess that's where we here in South-Africa are a bit more lucky (depending on your viewpoint). Hitting a cyclist or pedestrian is considered a crime akin to attempted murder. It's taken pretty seriously. The negative side-effect is that pedestrians are now a lot more brazen (read idiotic) when they cross a street. Win some, lose some I guess.

Buzz, been there, felt the pain my friend, lucky we are both here to tell the tale. My wonderful girlfriend is a WPC (girlie copper) and has dealt with near 30 'cycle related' incidents in the last 5 weeks.
I've heard about that law / ruling DeonC, they are trying to bring it into force here.

Used to live & cycle in London before all the cycle lanes. I took a big chunk of Range Rover wing mirror home with me once. Driver overtook me and pulled in sharply in slow traffic, my all steel bike with welded on handle bar ends went straight thru it
Bus driver cut me up so I remonstrated at his window. Cut me up again and nearly killed me so I hit the emergency engine stop and rode off. My other favourite was to move bus nearside wing mirrors if they cut you up. They used to have to stop the bus, get out and sort the mirror. They're all leccy now
In the air sort of. Depends, now, on whether they right the car off and I can get it back cos I cant afford a car and speakers
At least I still have my ACA to build and a digi amp to rehouse with batteries................

Actually there´s only one rule of priority in trafic, biggest goes first.
Seriously thou, it´s a wonder so many survive a day in trafic, getting a drivers licence in Sweden is probably the hardest place on earth, still 80% of drivers shouldn´t be that, unfortunately that goes for the professional drivers as well, there´s a lot of lethal weapons out there, ranging from morons the selfoccupied brats who never realized there was anyone else in the world but them.
