Edge diffraction cannot be attenuated via DSP because the data is always windowed somehow using psychoacoustic functions that I'm not aware so far. Correct me if I am wrong. Bipolar infinite baffle is elegant diffraction free design and allow phantom images to convolute with direct sound although the quality is not known for me.
MSW and Jordans, they both have similar time transmittances but they do sound different (not mine). I'm little confused we cannot explain the benefits or differences between this masterpiece designs. MSW addressing spring-mass effects and we should see something.

im aware of the way bipolar speakers sound in small rooms, however, our main room is 25 by 30 by (8- 12) so its no worry.

I though you already decided on a 3" driver, had that changed or is ti a typo? I also though you were going to do it for your bedroom, has it changed to the main bedroom? If you are just doing it for the hell of it, just take your pick. Really no need for recommendation here.
im sorry if i mislead you in any way. i've been frequently changing stuff, etc. the 4 inch TB was a typo it is meant to be 3 inch.
note: my first beolab will be for my bedroom. i have the case finished except for the back panel. when i get the 2 TB bamboos, Ill hook it up, wait for the t-amp to be in stock again, buy it, then hook it up and enjoy.

Are you sure TB has 3 inch bamboos? which model is it? How are the UFOs? The BeoLab has a round cylindrical-like enclosure, how are you doing it like that?

Just wanted to offer words of encouragement for your project. Just have a go and see what you can create. Even if your intial creation is just a result of experimentation, your knowledge and ability to tweak the design will increase as you work on it, and eventually you could end up with a fantastic speaker. It doesn't matter if you have never designed a speaker before.

This was my take on it, if you draw the reflection and difrraction waves, there are too many issues that complicate things to the point that it will probably never be qualified as Hi Fi.

An earlier comment said finding a 3" dome is hard. This Tangbrand unit measures well and can go very low in frequency for a dome:

The rounded edges on the lens reduce diffraction.
My reference speakers (Gedlee Summas) have a lot of features designed to reduce diffraction. I've heard the Beolab 5, and although they sound very different than my reference, they are very good and very competitive
