They are a long chapter about noise. Try reading ''The Sound Of Silence'' book by Bukhard Vogel, its all the maths in there. $139 at Amazon. Or the Linear Audio Jan's electronics publications with circuit paradigm articles from Wurcer and Popa on those issues. But if you are not planing to design, better spend on good low noise parts and some proven popular circuit with fellow diyers feedback like those from Pass Labs here.

Siberia - I put some cheap step ups into it, some old shure microphone ones, and lowered the gain to standard level. Sounds ******* amazing. With Soundsmith modded 103 cart, I finally am seriously happy with Vinyl, and now know it's potential it can reach. I've tried several othe pre's before this, and none come close.

Can someone please assist me in finding some parts I need?

I am using the spreadsheet that was put together earlier in the thread for my parts.

What I need is C2, 3, 23 and 25.

The spreadsheet shows them as this:
Capacitor, 0.1uF, Polypropylene MKP - Wima - PN=594-2222-416-4100.

I checked Mouser where the spreadsheet shows to buy them but they are no longer listed. Thanks.

6L6,

Thank you for the information.

I measured out all of my resistors last night and picked the ones that matched the best. Went through all of my parts tonight and have everything except those caps, C9 and R20.

Just took a look at the soldering station and I think I will be very happy with that. Hopefully in the next day or two I should be soldering some stuff up.

Strange. You say Wima and when I enter the PN @ Mouser, I get Vishay.
Moreover, it says: "2.601 Can Ship Immediately".
Is it because I'm accessing EU store?

Note, it has a better tolerance of 2% and rating of 63V.

Siberia,

The one at Mouser shows PN=594-2222-416-41004 as a Vishay like you state.

Since the spreadsheet I have shows the below two numbers and descriptions I am just not sure if they are the same device or if it was a type in the spreadsheet. Just wanted to make sure I got the right item.

Thanks, James

594-2222-416-4100 Capacitor, 0.1uF, Polypropylene MKP - Wima

OK, I think I found the mistake. I just double cheked the original pdf from Wane and C2, 3, 8, 12, 14 16-19, 23 and 25 should be Mouser 594-2222-416-4100 (see attachement).

The speadsheet where I got the information has the listing for the caps as I showed in my post above.

Now since I was ordering basically double of what I needed I do have 21 of the 594-2222-416-41004, .1uf, 2%, 63 volts Vishay's.

So I think I should be good to go. Sorry but it's early and not enough coffee yet.

James

individual matching of the RIAA section is fine but when you get done, string each section together and tag each leg together with a little solder and measure each channel to make sure you have equal values for both boards, then insert caps.
This will help overall focus in the end
