ok i finally got another driver card. after some testing all the diodes on both driver cards are bad. they have a direct short across them i need some help to identify these parts.

I would suggest pulling the parts from the board to measure, just to make sure something else isn't in parallel with them.

yea i just pulled the 4 big ones and they are shorted across.

its a dead short. ive never seen a diode like that before.

Is there any part # on the case for any of them, It could just be very light in color.

From what I've read these should be 6.2v zener diodes. Is this correct?

Maybe a Vishay TGL41-XX, The XX would be the voltage rating.

Where did you read that they should be 6.2v Zeners?

i was going through some sites at work and a guy posted any zener with a color band is most likely a 6v zener diode.

That's not true for most MELF diodes. Most have no indication as to their rated voltage. In some of the other DLM boards, they used a 1N4237 and a 1N4740 connected in reverse series configuration. I'd suspect that these are similar. You would need at least one good pair to test to know what they really are if you can't get that information from the manufacturer.

Does he possibly have a second board with good diodes that you could test (will require a bit of effort) to determine what they are?

that was his only one. i cant find a good one no where.
