srini just a query:confused:.
why do u convert ur downloaded file into dvd pal:confused:.
u can run the downloaded file directly by vlc from ur pc/laptop.because file transformation always degrade quality and why will u use ur time for transformation?
6GB movie files are good enough to watch.off course higher GB files are awsome.but they take lonnnnnnnnnggg:mad: time to be downloaded.

Ok .my comouter is old one it has 2.5 ghz,512mb ram and not even a core2duo processor.BR rip movies in MKV or H264 format doesn't play normally. so i download quality content in BR rip not real blueray file.then convert it to dvd format and use it.Quality of converted AVI file will be good since source file is BR rip.
If i have a core2duo or i series processor then i can play easily the mkv and h264 formats (HD formats).

Hey again.!!!

I bought a used LCD monitor yesterday from Ritchie street for 1000 Rs. tried to strip. Finally found the cable is shorter...... now again wondering what to do>>>>>>>>>>

can you place the control board at right angle to the panel with some support ?. In my panel there is a small control board with short cable. So I placed the board at right angle to the panel with some support. I am lucky to have the main board is connected using a FFC of some length. So rhe main board is kept over ( out side) the box.

Guys ..... i am shivakumar from chennai...
I have started my projector project after a long pause(7 years apx.)

i got most of the parts in moore market.

my design:
long thread blot assembly
ply wood support for LCD,lens etc
400W MH with ready made driver (philips)
Un split fresnel lens from old ohp, triplet lens, condenser lens (got it from moore market)
LCD beetel 15.6inch LCD (very easy to disassemble and power is external 12v 1A adopter, interface board is very small)

result is very good with 95% brightness with hop sheet in the place of LCD.
But when placing LCD 80% to 90% got blocked by LCD.Result is good but brightness is very low (i have tried increasing the LCD brightness to 100%)

Problems:

Light projected is not bright enough. 80% to 90% blocked by LCD. But in dark room picture details seems to be ok. Is it normal or can we improve the brightness of the picture.( how the master hertz PJ is so bright. Mine is 1/10 of that brightness.)

LCD center portion is heating up after 10mins (not even able to touch) and black spot started growing in the center of the screen due to heat.i have placed a glass sheet in front of MH to block heat but still not much improvement. tried to keep the fresnel lens as close as possible to LCD. but still heat is on the center of the LCD.
I have not used FANs. whether FANs will do the trick (stupid question but why heat is only on the center of the screen)

Guys any help or suggestions?...

When I stripped by BENQ monitor it was just like a see through glass, and I could get good brightness with 250W, and with your 400W it should be better. How much is your Beetel monitor, and where did you buy it.

BTW, your heat problem is due to your reflector. Try removing the reflector and you will get better pic, and lesser heat. Check if your bulb is in centre line with your fresnel lens that is important to give enough brightness

thanks man,

i will try removing the reflector.
beetel monitor is 15.6 inch Rs 3500.
after disassembly screen seems to be semi transparent but definitely not transparent or see through glass.

there is a layer of film which seems to be polarizer and if removed there is no display on that spot.

by the way where get you get your monitor and how much is costs..

Put the bulb on the exact focus of the reflector so as to get a parellel beam. Best test is in the night, to place an ordinary bulb in front of the reflector and try to get a good beam like the headlight of a car. When the bulb is at the focus, you will definetly get a beam. Note the position and distance and place the light emitting point of the MH at this point.

Even a slight deviation from the center line of the fresnel will dramatically decrease the brightness.

Hi friends, I have a doubt on usefulness of a reflector. Many of us are using a reflector to maximise the light out put and a fresnel to make the light parellel. The fresnel requires a point light source and we are placing the light at the focal point of the fresnel.
On the other hand a reflector is used to maximise the light by reflecting the light back. If the light source is placed at the focal point of the reflector it also make the light a beam which falls on the fresnel over an area, not as a pointed light source. Then how the fresnel accomodate the light from the reflector?. Or am I missing some thing ?

ya mee too ,yesterday i googled for 7" lcd monitor in thrissur local market
but they told they dont have a monitor such as hd quality only they have chepst one
around 2500k . can we make the pj together ?

See yourself some TV on it using the AV in. If the pixels are seen it is of low reso and is useless. Try some car TVs. I was lucky to find a super brand one with toshiba panel, bought from a duty paid shop for Rs. 2700/- I do not know the exact resolution( no details on the box or in the manual), but the projected image of 70-80 inch is not that bad. However I am still on the look out for a better panel.

Do not believe on the resolutions printed on the boxes unless it is of some good brand. Always try to see some video on it.

Dear Budhi
I am From chandigarh. I got 9.8 Portable DVD with LCD, One 3 mm Magnifier sheet (A4 size).

Lamp with reflector and two condenssor lenses containing a fan below the lamp for cooling the lamp. The projection 3let lens i don't know about its focal length. I got all these things from a slide Projector.

Can i make it with one Magnifying sheet ???
what distance shall i keep to get an image.
I tried it in the moser bare DVD spindle box (which contains 6 spindles of 100 dvds).
but the image shows in round on the wall.

Thanks in advance.
