Wavebourn will eventually let us know I suppose. If it is 14mS indeed then we talk around 1.92nVrtHz. It would get to stably parallel 4 matched units for going just under 1nVrtHz (no Rg or Rk noise added yet) and be merely acceptable by today's good MC phono standards. SUT also so to give it comfortable Rs for keeping 1/F tame.

I can't read Russian - the data sheet I have for my 52H-B's is mostly gibberish to me I'm afraid.

Instead of 52'th I would recommend 6Н16Б -- they are tiny versions of 6Н1П.

Hmm... that 6N16B looks interesting. I have had in the back of my head an idea of using an old 2400 baud modem case for a tiny computer amp. These might be a good option for the preamp/driver tube. Any suggestion of a tiny Russian power tube to pair with it? :D

I will search. But while I am searching, here is one more valuable information about Russian military tubes: 6Н17Б is tiny military equivalent of 6Н2П, may be used where you usually use 12AX7.

You know Wavebourn, if you published a book of translated data sheets I bet you could get more than a few buyers. :) Better yet a book with your comments and experience with each tube along with the data sheets would be a fascinating read.

Thank you Mike; great idea!

The question is, how long that stock of wonderful military tubes may last? What if when I finally publish the book all toobs are already unobtanium?

Lots of them suddenly appeared on ePay. The same way they can disappear...

Like my question in post #18.....

You are in my ignore list since attacking me personally for disagreement about transformers, that's why I did not see your question and did not answer.

Yes. They had to be selected, similarly to SS devices: distances between electrodes are so close so each micron matters. But I could easily match 8 of them for my tube mixer.

Yeah let's keep it this way and anyway RF tubes are not easy to use so only
adventurers dare play with them.

regards.

I would say Pioneers, not Adventurers: after Pioneers discover new wonderful territory all fellow citizen are invited. ;)

I am going to publish details of construction, tips, and probably make kits for MC phono stages available. I just need help to prepare kits, since I never made them yet. I bought enough of exotic toobs in order to select matching pairs.

Next person to post about your disagreements, will go to the bin.

Remember:

No member can be forced to respond, we are always telling members to ignore questions which offend them. There IS an ignore member function which we also tell members to use if they don't get along with someone. If some one is using this feature they won't see some posts and won't respond. That's OK.

Political discussion is not allowed, period.

It is always allowed to quit the forums.

An error seems to have been made previously as NO posts were deleted after the recent mod post. We mods are human, and to claim it is a conspiracy does seem to be somewhat paranoic. Hey, give us a break!
