Uh-oh! At this rate he's never going to get done with The Beast.Because you can?
Distractions BAD.
IXYS RF: HF/VHF Linear MOSFETs
TO-220/247, TO3P packaging probably limits FR
by using RF packaging and metal gate mosfets you could extend loop gain intercept and audio frequency feedback factor by 10X - assuming single pole compensation
of course I don't know why you'd bring that to Nelson's attention given his apparant lack of interest in high feedback designs

Why would you want to use an RF mosfet when normal devices are already fast enough?
When I talked to experienced tube amp designers, they refused to think about using power MOSFETs because of their large non-linear input capacitance. Of course, an experienced designer could deal with any parts, but at expence of some compromise. What is proposed in this thread, is just a step towards less compromise design.

I figured I would ask in this post about some mosfets I found in the junk bin.
I have 5 "mega mosfets" IXYS IXTK62N25. I was thinking about Son of Zen amp, or balanced Zen light with these? I assume these can be used in a Class A amp and biased pretty hard. The ciss is high @ 6600pf I would assume thats the only limitation on this mosfet?
Thank you,
Steve
