the Salas shunt need:
2 or 3 : 9-12 V/ min 100mA
You can choice R-core (R26-28) for Salas shunt, It is good

The supply I/V need: 0- 260V min 50mA
The Filament need: 0-9 V min 3A

What about a R-Core (R26-34) as I have one of these which I had planned to put in another dac, which I am not selling..

Specs:
R26-34 0-9X2(0.7A)、0-15X2(0.7A)

If its not Ideal I will sell it on and buy the pcb toroidal's. I'm pretty sure it wont be, but thought I'd check ..

Hi quanghao,

I'm in for one DAC + one Salas reg only. :D

To sum up :
1. Strosek: full set
2. boudy : full set
3. ksnider1: full set
4. toufu : (IV + Supply For IV) x 2
5. ferrari: (IV + Supply For IV) x 3
6. analogdiy: full set
7. wobii: full set
8. Cobra2: (IV + Supply For IV) x 2
9. mikelm: full set
10. le´flu: just one salas reg
11. housing: one DAC + one salas reg only

Thank you.

I having problem with my build..

I have followed the steps regarding adjusting the voltages. All checkt out fine. So today I connected everything together.
But I don't get any sound. There is only a slight hiss in one speaker.

I use E182CC as output tube and can easy hear if I tap on it. Well... To rule out the I/V I connected the output cables direct to the DAC output but still no sound.

This leads me to belive that the CS8414 isn't working properly.
Is there a way to check it with a regular DMM? My scope is left at work untill monday :-(

I use a squeezebox as source for s/pdif..

This 100VA Transformer can be suitable for the power stage (Tubes + Heater)

R80-36 primary (0-110) x 2 /SCN: scondary (260-230-0-230-260)(200mA), 2.5-0-2.5(3A), 3.15-0-3.15) X 2(3A)

Easy to get 8.15V for heater Series 2.5+2.5+(3.15parallel) :)

Available from diyclub.biz

Why not 2.5 + 3.15 + 3.15 = 8.8V? Those are all 3A? Or is those 3.15 parallel so it's easier for the transformer? I'm not so familiar with these connections.. :smash:

Because 8.15 is enough.
If you use 5687 you better use LT1085 regulator and you can try to leave 2.2R resistors. If relay starts chattering then remove 2.2R and mount 1R

Selecting 8.8V is only making the regulator hotter. Try to keep the power dispersion in the heater PSU section as low as you can. It's already d** hot.

The transformer as above is fine. It maintains almost room temperature.

Since quanghao has some extra boards and I can get mine immediately, I hereby withdraw from the next group buy. Forum members involve in the next group buy thus are :

1. Strosek: full set
2. boudy : full set
3. ksnider1: full set
4. toufu : (IV + Supply For IV) x 2
