... and there are now a couple of Paypal disputes open, so maybe there will ultimately be a resolution.

I'd rather not be in the position of sticking up for Chris, but I think resorting to trying to recoup money is a bit premature at this point. I mean, it's been less than 30 days and the seller has an established history of seemingly dropping off the face of the planet for a time, only to re-emerge and take care of business. I assume all who sent him money bothered to look through the thread on the previous group buy, and knew what they were in for.

Then perhaps you shouldn't have.

Regretably, Paypal disputes have to be filed in a timely fashion, so red tape, and a lack of communication on the part of the seller result in unfortunate circumstances like this.

Chris was logged in just today, and I can't imagine he didn't check his own thread. I can't imagine it would be much trouble to post an update.

I think thirty days is plenty of time to deliver, or at least communicate why there's a hold up. Don't you?

Mike

I had reviewed his previous sales activity prior to sending Chris funds. Although there does not appear to be any outstanding problems with the previous sales, I think he could post shipping progress to the board at least once a week. I am not yet excited over this.

Chris, are you out there, the folks appear to be getting restless?

FWIW, I paid for my heatsinks on 9/30...

Perhaps I did not word my post well. All I meant to suggest is that perhaps some patience is in order as Chris, as is well-documented, takes his time shipping product and answering emails.

In response to your question, I think that anyone who expected to receive their heatsinks in less than 30 days is an incorrigible optimist, to be frank, based on the seller's reputation. I'm perfectly fine with that, as I read the entire other thread and assumed that was part and parcel.

Of course, if we'd just get our stinkin' heatsinks, we could forget all this and get to building something...

EDIT: Mike, I just saw your edit about Chris being on the site today. Yeah, that's a bit odd.

Regards,
John

I understand the concern about my tardiness, I apologize for any inconveniences. McMaster Carr is usually very good about getting parts (specifically the heat sink bolts) to me quickly, took a little bit longer than I thought. Working on the flat packs left little time for shipping, I was thinking I might try to fit the flat packs in the same box as the heat sinks, but that doesn't look like it's going to work. Good news is that the flat packs are almost ready to ship :), I have about 10 kits done which I will post pictures to hopefully this weekend. Rest should be done in the following week. Just need to order shipping supplies from Uline and hopefully I can get those out the door soon. Heatsinks are boxed and have either shipped yesterday or today. Let me organize my UPS receipts and I'll send tracking numbers to all of you. Thanks for your patience,

Chris

Chris,

Thanks for the update. I am sure this is helpful in lowering peoples' anxity. An update for lack of progress is much better than keeping it quiet as people would assume the worst.

I also understand it takes lots of works to arrange a group buy like this and appreciate your effort.

Thanks,

Stanley
