I have found that construction adhesive (such as Weicon Flex) is very tolerant of wood expansion/contraction.
The above 18mm plywood cabinet is the inner carcass of a composite cabinet. It houses a Purifi PTT6.5M04-NFA driver. It was then covered in a outer casing of 19 mm solid cherry. Loctite PL-Max construction adhesive was used between the plywood and the solid cherry wood.
It has been over a year, and there is no problem at all.
