I plan to use these butt splice copper connectors. The wires will be stripped to the length of the connectors. The untwisted strands will be pushed together so the strands slide into each other, and then they will be twisted. Then a copper shim will be placed over the wires, so the set screws will push on the shims. Then the connector will be slid over the wires and shims and the set screws will be locked against the shims. Everything will be sprayed with deoxit prior to sliding the connectors over the wires.
