thanks for feedback, but what I really need is reports from those having the click problem with 1.19....

Would be interesting which player (software) is used if click problem occurs. Had similar issues with a different dac.. but only with windows.

I sent you an email with a case of the symptoms, and the curious fact that it occurs only with some players. Maybe this can help.

Yes I have moved on and also from audial TDA1541a, ak4495 is still one of my favourite's because of the simplicity, my AK4495 has low output volume because its direct out without op amps, and the TDA is also great but treble roll off is audible. But Soekris 1021 is king, treble is clear and sounds like true hi fi in comparison, it doesn't loose its clarity with complicated music, everything has tone now, for me I have been trying to find a dac solution for the last 12years I and now personally have found it with Soekris 1021.

Thanks for the info. Are you running the DAM stock or with Vref caps / better regs etc?

I did vref mods and use ultra low noise regs from DIYinHK and am using direct out, at first I thought the dam sounded very forward and tended to shout but over time it has tamed and sounds to be just more dynamic. I don't know how much more one can improve on sound at this price range, its perfect for me.

Thanks again. I think the DAM1121 will be my next DAC, although it'll be a couple of months.

Is the 1121 better than the 1021, because of the user master clock?

My understanding is because of the reclock after the FPGA. Plus it doesn't have the extra stuff on it I don't need, so is smaller.
