if you have multiple I2S (more than two) channels your best solution would be either use more than one DAC or use an 8 channel DAC with summing as you see fit

If you have 2 channels and you have multiple analog filters after the DAC a single Mercury or Ivy-III should be just fine - so long as the input impedance of the analog filters is not too low - meaning something less than say 2K.

Hello everyone, I plan my first Buffalo DAC based on the Buffalo-IIIsePro38 fed by an Beagle Bone Black and the Mercury as an output stage. Can you please verify whether my shopping list from Twisted Pear is complete? I don't want to order twice due to the shipping to Germany.

* Hermes-BBB Isolator Module
* Cronus Re-clocking Module with 45.1584/49.152MHz Rhea Pair
* Buffalo-IIIsePro38 2-Channel DAC w/Full Series Regulator Set (Already ordered)
* Mercury I/V Stage (when available)
* Low Current Dual Power Supply HO Kit (For Buffalo and Cronus, suggested by Brian)
* Placid HD 2.1 Bipolar Power Supply Kit (For Mercury, suggested by Brian)
* 9V+9V (30VA) Power Transformer (For LCDPS HO)
* 15V+15V (50VA) Power Transformer (For Placid HD)

My questions: Are the transformers for the LCDPS and Placid okay? Do I miss anything important I should order from Twisted Pear?

Thanks!

That's exactly what I would suggest

Is a 10k pot still good as volume control? I have a remote controlled 10k pot I want to reuse if possible.

Russ,

I plan to build buffalo III es9038pro with coax, toslink and usb inputs.
Do you think something like this:
NEW AK4118 digital receiver board SPDIF input switch IIS with IIS support XMOS | eBay
would work with hermes and cronus? It seems like it is amanero pin compatible ...
unless you are planinig on doing something like this
Cheers

Introducing the Buffalo III-SE-Pro 9028/9038
Hi

Am I correct to assume that the dip switch settings on the IIISE Pro boards mirror those of the earlier IIISE board? I'm upgrading from a Buffalo II so I've been reading the existing guide for information

Thanks

Introducing the Buffalo III-SE-Pro 9028/9038
Default BIII-Pro 9038 but no I/V

So, the BIII-SE-Pro w/9038 will arrive in two days.
However, without the new Mercury I/V the dac will
be silent until it's available
Is there any way to use the dac until the Merc is available?

I currently have a BIII SE and plan on going PRO, but would also like to get in on the USB/RHEA in the meantime.

Would the 45.1584/49.152MHz RHEA be the best bet? or 22.5792/24.576MHz?
