New Bookshelf Cabinet for Alpair 10 (Gen 2)

Hello,

This is the first release of a new vented bookshelf cabinet designed by Mark Fenlon for his Alpair 10 (Gen 2) to suit Asian listening tastes. The sound is concentrated on voice, bass is not so strong. Highs are good, very detailed.

The first version is 18 mm plywood cabinet with native veneer. The cabinet is well built and matched with Alpair 10 (Gen 2). This pair was specially made for Mark. Mark loved its fine build quality.

We can make more later and the veneers can select:
1) Ebony
2) Mahogany or Blackwood
3) Teakwood

And the oakwood version will be available soon.

The price of this vented cabinet in plywood with veneer is US$195/pair with front cover.

I just did the assembly of oakwood version. The speakers are being run-in for around 10 hours. I listened for mintues with Mark in yesterday. The overall performance of Alpair 10.2 bookshelf is impressive. Like the Pensil 10.2 I listened in Kenneth's place, the sound of bookshelf is also very detailed and musical with reasonable bass. The sound stage performed is open with depth. I believe Alpair 10.2 would be one of best full range drivers in the price range.

1) Pensil 10.2 in oakwood ;
2) Pensil 10.2 in Finnish WISA BB birch plywood with ebony real wood veneer.

I can ship Mark Audio drivers including Alpair 10.2 to India.

As Pensil 10 or Pensil 12 are big and heavy, they are not shipped by postal service to overseas. If you have forwarder to handle the shipment for you, I can sell them to you.

One pair of Markaudio Alpair 10 speaker is on sales now. The drive unit is Markaudio Alpair 10 (Gen.1) 6" full range emitter which is ultra-thin mixed alloy cone. Ultra wide frequency is provided for this driver size.
