headphone tube amp
Finally got this headphone amp project done after a couple of years. I guess I had to wait for retirement to find some time.
Case is made of padouk and walnut, with aluminum top plate.
Voltage regulator tubes (0D3) and 5842 triodes.
Khozmo 50k 48-step attenuator.
Really like what I'm hearing.

Thanks, Jeff.
Circuit was designed by Rene'. He had Bud (O-Netics) make the transformers for him. Sorry, don't have specs on them.

Looks nice. One suggestion: use advantage of a jumper between pins 2 and 7 of VR tubes, to disconnect B+ if a tube is not inserted.

Thanks. I'll do that next time I have a chance.
Electrical is a foreign language to me, so there is plenty to learn.
beautiful work Dave.
Glad to see you are getting good at retirement.
Hope to see you soon
thanks Scott. practice makes perfect!

Yes, that's a good advice! Will implement that in my next (headphone)amplifier too.
Great project! I restored one a little while ago and it was very rewarding - see the thread on Restoration of Philips B6X63A valve radio from 1956
This guy is a great resource Electronics Old and New by M Caldeira - he has detailed videos on the process of restoring many of these kinds of radios - very methodical and thorough. The schematics of most of those Philips radios can be easily found on the internet.
Excellent work done ^ Congratulations El Sid
I indeed buy recently ~ 70 years old Philips BX690A in incredible clean condition. Great amazing sound quality with connected to the radio audio input TDA1541 modern DAC. It's my mono minimalistic sound system for romantic evenings in the summer , just for audiophile fun

Nice - it’s in lovely condition! You’re lucky you didn’t have to restore it...

Nice. Really enjoy the beautiful craftsmanship of some of the vintage things. Good to see someone with appreciation to keep it going.
