250TL amplifier

Not very popular tube for amplifier. Eimac 250TL amplifier with Tamura transformer, output 20W SE. Frequency response at full power 20W. I am surprised of the measurement, because the bass did not sound as deep as measured. In fact my other 845SE measured worse in the bass but sound much much better.

Unison845 and Soundstorm: off the planet!!

This is SY's HMN using Jack's boards. The XLRs are for the phono and the rest of the inputs are passive. The last pic is the layout test before making it pretty - there's a Landfall Systems chassis under there.

Single stage tube preamp with jFet buffer

In order to drive a UX-171A power amp, with an input impedance of 400ohms, I added a Pass B1 to the back end of a tube preamp. This is all contained in a 2U 19" rack enclosure. Three inputs on the back and a classy black stippled finish enclosure. Alps pot and 4oz brass knob. Matches my tube and chip amp ("Number 9") in looks front and back. First image is Number 9.

What tube is that and at what voltage? Or a schematic would be nice.

OK. A schematic to be posted. I got the original from Audio eXpress many years ago and swore I would build it. I now have a few pairs of UX-171A tubes and 80 rec. tubes. Here is an images of the amp. The base is a 1940s flower pot base.
