I love the sound from them, they seem to mate well with tube amps also. The ones I built are usable to 200hz. Wrap around cancellation starts at about 800hz so its pretty flat above that. I built a tube crossover with a "tilt" circuit to offset the wrap around cancellation so I didnt have to use any passive crossover parts like most commercial ESLs. I have owned many commercial ESl's in the past and decided it was time to build my own. Below 200hz I cross them over to line arrays of ScanSpeak revelators. I tried a dipolar sub with 4 - Peerless 12's a side but it was still to wimpy even though it was very tight and clean at low volume. I am VERY happy with the sound of the ESL's, the midrange is so clean and detailed its amazing...Some commercial ESls like the Martin Logan CLS's can go down under 50 hz....
