I have repaired radios from the 1920,s and have never needed to go round every soldered connection reflowing them just the ones that looked bad.


Because of the heat generated in power amps this is more of an issue but not in tube radios .
 
Well i am very thankfull Duncan and all the other for you're help and here is little tip maybe you already know this but before you buy a radio or a speaker where you can't easily remove the protection try the light trick, it can't tell you if its rubbing or if the voice coil is shorted but it can tell you if there are major DAMAGE to the cone.
