Do you plan on making the filament glow? Then you somehow need to restore the vacuum and reseal the tube. The filament needs a vacuum to prevent it from burning out.

barium/strontium/calcium oxides cathode; barium flash getter; thats the biggest health risk imo. mercury filled tubes are other story.
rest is nickel,copper,carbon,molybden,tungsten,mica,glass.

about beo-its the pink ceramic,like in magnetrons.

P.S. will the hot wire (string) method work on vacuum tube glass? It is more resistant to temp. stresses than a bottle..
