Default Finemet OT Trafos

Today are arrived the firsts FINEMET C nucleus from Hitachi distributor.
Three types for different use, one p-p, one SE and one fro MC step up.
Soon I will have the protos to check and the intention, if they seems fine, is to produce a line of trafos.

ps: it is funny that I am a Hitachi employee ( on computer company inside the Hitachi galaxy)

Are you sure that these cores are Finemet (nanocrystalline) ones?
AMCC-200 core is METGLAS amorphous alloy (2605SA1 type).

Both types are under same Hitachi catalog, AMCC Series cut core / Finemet F3CC Series cut core.
In the order there are both types, the biggest for power and the little for step up (F3CC008)

give me some time. Now they are by my friend who has all the tools to wound the trafos.

We are preparing a test set up to check them in deep, the way is the one I described time ago, the "reverse way" that is, in my opinion, the best and efficent way to check the OT trafo

Are your transformers going to be "double C" type? (i.e. will you be using 4 half-cores to produce a transformer?) The 'binding' of the magnetic field of your windings would be stronger if you use the cores that way.

Would that be the 'reverse way' using the wrong impedance on the primary, as pointed out by timpert in that thread and demonstrated by him using both simulation and measurements?
