There is a small amount of 300B tubes at that price that are being sold worldwide (and I mean asian market included sales). So I bet they have to limit their output. When looking at that much workspace, I suspect they could produce a hell of an outcome with maybe 500 tubes a day. I wonder where the market for such a pile of WE 300B tubes should be? If the tubes are of real good quality, they should last 5 to 10 years in an amp. I think they should produce other types, too. That could help to keep the factory under full production. With only the 300B type, I really don't see the people who will buy this tube at that price and in the necessary quantity. Most 300B amp users simply don't have the money to buy original WE. That was true for the past and that will be true for the present and future. Its a very small market niche they are producing for. And in the long term, maybe another 30 years, all the old music lovers of tube gears are dead and gone. So this famous tube has seen the longest part of its production time anyway.

Oh, I see, they need a massive amount of tubes for their amp. But at that price, they won't sell too many of them. BTW, I don't see anything inside, that would testify this price tag. Just the same cheapo PC-boards for audio as everywhere else.
Most of their products are too expensive for their value (cable).

The restart of WE in the Chattanooga area has been discussed for several years. A person who owns a large guitar and amp manufacturing company told me about this 6 or 8 years ago, but nothing came of it until about two or three years ago. That's when the old bank? building in Rossville got a facelift and a clean out. I talked to the same person a few months ago and he told me some other interesting info more important to him than 300B's. It seems than Mr. Whitener also owns the rights to use the RCA name for vacuum tube production and was considering the remake of the Black Plate 6L6GC. Unfortunately they would be expensive, or they would need to find a large scale market rather quickly, preferably before production actually started, hence the discussions with guitar amp makers.

It's not reissue but mixture of old and computer age hi-tech with respect to tradition of quality excellence.

Genuine Western Electric theatre audio system with complete amp's and horns for example 16A
cost much more than some new cars.

Old Peugeot and Renault are beautiful :cheerful: Thanks for remembering.

Those 212s could be re badged, there is a Chinese manufacturer making close copies of the original. Those transmitter tubes require more expensive glass, filament wire and more raw materials in general than a 300B. Not even speaking of the higher electricity bill due to the fact these will need more outgassing.

They invest millions of dollars, build a big factory with old and new machines, employee team of engineers and workers in Georgia. Western Electric rebirth brings new genuine his own technology vacuum tubes.

Another example is a small ELROG team company in Germany does produce back many direct heated triodes and is making 100% locally and the very best quality with improvements.

People believe, are passionate and just DO IT :D

After that, many tubes aficionados in Asia do pay rather higher price for modern triodes made in the USA and Europe ;) Have a nice day!
