Default multi-tap outptut transformer

hi , i have a 7K transformer runnig a 8 ohm driver on the 8 ohm secondary. if i will run the same driver on the 16 ohm tap what will the impedance at the primary 3.5K ? or another value?

The losses of the primary due to its DCR, and the losses of the secondary due to its DCR will both be doubled when you use the transformer that way.

Suppose the 7k Ohm primary has a 350 Ohm DCR, and the 8 Ohm secondary tap has a 0.4 Ohm DCR. The losses due to DCRs will be 1 dB.

Now suppose the 16 Ohm tap also has a 0.4 Ohm DCR (it would have to have a little more, but just for discussion, say it is still only 0.4 Ohm). If you put the 8 Ohm load on the 16 Ohm tap, the new loss due to the DCRs would be 2 dB.
