Yes.
The XE-20S probably can not take any higher B+ voltage, especially if the 845 plate goes to 2X B+ (1000V).
I estimate 500V B+.
If the 845 cuts off, or if the volume is turned all the way up, and then the speaker load is mistakenly dis-connected, you will have more than 1000V across the XE-20S primary.
Please, someone send me a nice XE-20S output transformer. I promise to take good care of it.

I need an explanation also.
In #591, the first amp (26HU5OTL), he's running the 6CL6 driver tubes at Vak=50V and Vg2k=140V. What does that accomplish? I looked at the data sheet and I don't see anything to suggest a benefit from such an odd operating point.
Plate voltage of 6CL6 should read 270v, not 170. Otherwise the other numbers don't match.
A quick calculation - ignoring screen currents:
121v across the common 6.2kohm cathode resistor means 20mA of current.
This current is shared between both tubes, so about 10mA per tube.
10mA plate current causes 130v drop across 13kohm plate resistors, down from 410v, which leaves 280v on the plates.
I believe 170 is a typo and should read 270v.
