Ok, so here i go into the realm of tubes. well kinda i built a preamp on a plywood board to get the feel for it.
But this one is big for me.

Ive decited on the 807 amp on petes site i have ordered components and boards.
i plan to start in a few months after i get a plan and do some more reading.

i plan on posting my progress here.

now, to all of the tube guys ive got a question.

from doing some reading it looks like the 6P7S will drop in nicely. from what i read it has a diffrent base than the 807. it looks like it uses a Octal base and a plate cap. and this coud be cool cause i can tweek the cir and change the tubes to 6l6 as i learn more.

so to you guys...... am i right? or is there other diffrences i missed?

thanks.

Hi,
It looks like it will work. I built an amp based off his 807 design, and love it. While it was on the breadboard, I tried several types of output tubes w/ only minor component changes here and there (to get things biased correctly, or fix negative feedback issues). I didn't study the data sheet carefully, but it looks like those 6P7S's should drop in w/out a problem.
