Big chassis designs!

I just acquired the skeleton of a 14" x 21" chassis (an old PA mixer) that will be the perfect starting point for a tube amp, but in contrast to most projects I've undertaken, I have entirely too much real estate to fill up! I need some inspiration.

What do you have in your blue-sky WAF-no-object library? Show me some pics of dual-mono, lots of glass, big footprint component overkill!

40 WPC SET using 845's. I built this about 10 years ago when my woodworking tools consisted of a jig saw, a screwdriver and a box of sheetrock screws. Note that the PCB on the power amp is an early prototype of a TSE board. Total weight is about 75 pounds.

This is going to become a 23" by 16" chassis containing a EL34 stereo amplifier (A. Wright's PP1C with EL184 CCS'es), coming very close to the size of your chassis:

That is a large chassis. I suppose you could make something like this (this is 10 X 17)…

Just bump up the circuit from 50wpc to 100wpc by adding larger transformers and 4 more KT88s.

The thing with large amps on a single chassis is weight. My amp weighs in at 46 lbs.

Adding larger iron and more components will probably add at least another 20 to 30 pounds to that.

As you can see in my pictures the transformers sit on a 1/4" plate of aluminum on top of the 10" x 17" x 2" aluminum chassis and there is an additional 1/4" plate running vertically across the inside for additional support for chassis sag.

My amp is essentially two 50wpc mono blocks on a single chassis.
