new chinese tube manufacturer
Default new chinese tube manufacturer

after just stumbling across some strange names on ebay , there seems like a whole new vacuum tube producer has set up shop in mainland china

their name is Guiguang they claim to be the phoenix that has risen from the remnants of the original Liuzhou Electron Tube Factory

this is the mainpage Foshan Nanhai Guiguang Electron Tube Factory

seems pretty damm legit nixe new factory whit CLEAN equiptment as opposed to shunguang . the old factory was claimed to be superior to any other chinese factory's as ive read .

their products seem to be tidy and well thought out . take for example their 2a3 has double mica .

im thinking this will bring some new intresting products .

surely somone must be constructing something whit the load of new DHT triodes pouring out of china

edit their not even skipping the most important thing ! their outgassing their materials . just like svetlana did and does ultimate lifetime

Hmm, I am going to be in the next town over from Foshan. I wonder if I could pop over there and check them out and at the same time go see Yaqin as well (Yaqin is also in Foshan).

by out gassing do you mean burning off whatever the toxic material that's present? i never thought tubes as having such issues since it's main structure is a sealed glass.

could you specify, please?

Outgassing--

The process whereby the internal metal parts of a vac. tube are heated to above any concievable normal working temperature, (Normally a glowing red-orange heat) to remove any occluded air and gasses from the metal itself...

Prevents a tube's vacuum from going 'soft' after some time of use and allows the getter to mop up any traces not removed by the outgassing process without becoming 'spent' too soon...

With regards the 4 300B I have from GuiGuang, they were bought for a project that I still have yet to finish.
I have tested them on my Taylor 45C Mu tester, they test fine, and are closely matched....

Ah--yes, They seem well-made, and I expect they will perform well...

Emission is very good, as indicated by very little reduction in Gm when running at a low heater-volts on the tester....

Ive no idea (yet) what they sound like, but for the price well.....
