Ok, straight from my android..



House finally quiet, Besides the hum I can also hear a tinsel sound like a loose filament in a light bulb ... unfortunately the phone mic not able to pick it up...
Never had a SE or tube rectifier, so have no idea if this is normal...


Hopefully this one works for you and thanks for sticking with it....

At least I can hear it now. It’s a very faint noise and it looks like 100 Hz. to me. When tubes are heating they can make some clicking noise, as the interior is heating up (a lot). This is normal.

With regard to the residual humming you will have to check the heaters (AC/DC), power supply, cabling, grounding, shielding, etc.. This may be a tough job, but rewarding in the end. Get your AC voltmeter, oscilloscope and perhaps an audio spectrum analyzer ready!
