I can't believe we don't have an output transformer manufacturer list sticky. Some of them have very little presence on the internet.

Output Transformer - Silicon Steel or Amorphous?
Output transformers ? sound quality ?

Can't edit this into my previous post. Not quick enough to find everything in 30 minutes time. I'm not a speed reader, too slow, too curious. Can't delete last post.

Does O-netics make SE OPTs?

I had never heard of Onetics, Transcendar, Intact Audio, or Tribute transformers before I saw this post.

ISO-TANGO to quit

A few more transformer brands. Thanks to kevinkr. Hammond, Heyboer, Edcor, MagneQuest, Electra Print Audio, Lundahl, Sowter. Some of the ones I'd never seen before. Bartolucci, Monolith Magnetics, Automatic Electric, Trafomatic, IG-Transformatoren, S&B, Megahertz Audio, and the new ISO.

Happened in wooden boat building too - how many still know how to build a clinker built boat with solid wood? It's all epoxy, plywood etc.

I already see enough alpha males taking over forums and doling out nonsense advise and oh boy don't you dare to call them out. Some of these alpha males are going on about how wonderful their amplifier is and posting scope pictures. Examining those reveals a lot of what they do not know.

Similarly some are raving on about particular manufacturers and I take one look and think "meh, not for me, too much wrong".

Only difference with constructing the output transformers that I would have done is: Get an old refrigerator pump unit and use that to vacuum impregnate the transformers after assembly and tightening the bolts using a slow setting epoxy resin. It results in less mechanical noise. (PS The epoxy fumes may damage your refrigerator unit....)

Unfortunately the negative part is that you can never take those transformers apart.

But that is just me.

( FWIW I've bought transformers done in that way. )
