I am a little confused about the lowering the gain on my simple se.
I am using a 26 DHT pre amp, and finding the gain too high on the SSE.
What input valves can i drop in place to lower the gain, and any components i need to change on the PCB?
Is the 12bh7 such a tube?

12BH7 is a suitable substitute, but it requires a different set point on the CSS to operate it in its most linear region.

I would like to try that i SimpleSE, could you give a qualified starting point for 12BH7: CCS current and Rk value?
